National Trust Sites
Worksop is very lucky to have 3 national Trust sites right on its doorstep. The largest is Clumber Park which is rich in history with both Clumber Manor and Clumber Chapel.
The second is Mr Straws house which is located at 5-7 Blyth Grove, Worksop. “Step back in time to the 1920s and discover how a grocer’s family lived in a Midlands market town through their furnishings and household objects.”
The final, and closest National Trust site, not situated in Worksop is The Workhouse in Southwell. “This austere building, the most complete workhouse in existence, was built in 1824 as a place of last resort for the poor and needy. ”
While the attached pages aren’t meant as an exhaustive account of these locations, hopefully they will encourage you to look a little closer at these sites and hopefully visit them.
