PROGRAMME : SPRING-SUMMER 2019
Meetings are held at the Station Hotel Carlton Road Worksop at 7.30pm
28th March: The Vikings – Pat McLaughlin A new talk from this popular speaker in which he charts the Vikings from their homelands to their presence in Britain.
25th April: The Worksop we have lost A Powerpoint presentation taken from the extensive collection of photographs compiled by our late President Michael Jackson to illustrate the buildings in the town which have since disappeared or have been altered, sometimes beyond recognition.
23rd May: The Victorian and Edwardian buildings of Worksop – Michael Tagg This presentation by Bassetlaw District Council’s Conservation Officer, will shed light on to the town’s 19th and early 20th century buildings and the people who built them.
27th June: Rockingham Pottery and Porcelain – The Leader Brothers This new presentation by experts in their field tells the story of this pottery and porcelain factory situated at Swinton in south Yorkshire and illustrates some of the products of the Rockingham Works, suppliers of pottery to Royalty and nobility.
There will be no meetings in July and August but if there is sufficient interest a summer visit may be arranged.

26th September: AGM followed by North Nottinghamshire from the air – Malcolm Dolby This presentation given by the Society’s Chairman will show a selection of images of local places taken by him during many flights over the last 25 years.
